At this time of year it’s easy to forget that there are people who aren’t able to celebrate Christmas in the same way that many of us can.
‘The charity [Crisis] estimates that there are currently 236,000 homeless people across England, Wales and Scotland, including those living in unsuitable temporary accommodation.’* This doesn’t include the thousands living below the poverty line in this country.
Caring Hands provides a vital service to those living in poverty in and around Evesham, not only at Christmas but throughout the whole year. Adding an extra tin or packet of food will make hardly any change to your food bill, but it could be the difference between having a meal or going to bed hungry for many people. It could also help a family living with a tight budget enjoy some special treats at Christmas that they may not otherwise be able to afford.
If you want to bring something from the list below, Hannah will be in the Baptist Chapel at the following times:
- Tues: 6pm – 8pm
- Thurs: 1:30pm – 3:00pm
- 6pm – 8pm
- Sun: 10am -11:30am
Alternatively, if you’re not from this area, maybe there’s a food bank near you that would take some donations.
