Hi everyone!

You should have received a letter already – so this is just a reminder!

The Adventurers and 10+ groups are joining forces tonight at 6pm. To create and star in an Easter Play, which has been named by some of the older youth as After The Cross.

Some of the 10+ ladies will be directing the rest of the group and we’re hoping to learn it in an hour!!! Speedy acting!

Parents are reminded to come and collect their children at 7pm so that they can watch the performance!

There is no 13+ this week. All groups will return as normal following the holidays. Keep checking back for more information on programmes and rotas.

Happy Easter everyone🙂 x

A while back we made some cookies in our youth group. These cookies were so delicious that a number of young people have asked if we will put the recipe on the website, so here it is..!

Tollhouse Cookies*

340g plain flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/2 tsp salt
225g unsalted butter
150g granulated sugar
150g unrefined light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
2 eggs
200g chopped pecans
150g dark chocolate chips

Pre-heat the oven to 190C. Grease and line a 23 x 33cm tin.

Sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt.

Beat the butter and sugars together with the vanilla essence. Beat in the eggs. Stir the flour mixture, nut and chocolate chips into the mixture.

Spoon the mixture into the tin. Bake for 25 minutes until golden and firm. Cool in the tin for five minutes and cut into squares. Remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack.

Store in an airtight container for three to four days.

For a crispier biscuit, put dollops of the mixture on to a greased baking tray.

You can substitute the pecans and chocolate chips for anything you like (within reason!).

Operation Christmas Child

Don’t forget that THIS SUNDAY (8th November) following the Baptist Family Service, and after we pause for Remembrance, we will be meeting together at Harvington Baptist Chapel to make some Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes together. Join us for tea, coffee, cake and the chance to bring joy to someone’s life this Christmas!

Where: Harvington Baptist Chapel
When: After the Family Service (10am) and pausing for Remembrance (11am), starting around 11:15am
Who: ALL are welcome!

Please bring shoeboxes and things to contribute to them, such as:
– toothbrushes/toothpaste/wash cloths
– small toys
– colouring pencils/notebooks
– sweets (not chocolate unfortunately!)
– hats/gloves/scarves

We are collecting things already in a large box at the back of Chapel, let Hannah know if you’d like to contribute but are unable to make it on Sunday morning.

There will be wrapping paper if you would like to bring a box but don’t want to wrap it, and there will also be an opportunity to write a letter to the child you’re making the box for. We really appreciate all the help to ensure that those less fortunate than us feel loved and cherished this Christmas time.
