Advent Challenge

If you follow us on Facebook or Instagram you will have seen that over the last few weeks our young people have been busy preparing an advent challenge for the community of Harvington to get involved with.

Christmas has become a time where we’re more concerned with the number of presents under the tree than spreading a message of hope to others. We wanted this advent challenge to be a time where we focus on others rather than ourselves. A time where we can spread hope, love, joy and peace to our neighbours and our community. We’re hoping that these little daily challenges can make a big impact on those around us!

Each person (or family if you’re doing this together) will recieve a scratch card with 25 hidden challenges. Each day you can scratch a bauble to reveal the challenge underneath. Alongside this there will be a post on our website/social media which will have more information or bonus challenges.

You may not feel like you can do 25… well don’t worry! We don’t want this to be an extra burden in what is already a busy season. Even if you feel you can only do 1 a week or 1 for the whole challenge that would be amazing!

This weekend hosts the first Sunday of advent which means that our season of anticipation and remembering has started and the beginning of our challenge is looming! If you’re interested in getting involved with the advent challenge either as an individual or as a family then pop along to either a service at one of our churches, or to one of our groups to pick up a scratch card advent calendar. If you can’t make it send a message and we can try and get one to you!

We would love it (if you’re a social media user) if you could share photos of your challenges and tag us @harvingtonyouthproject, with the hashtag #hypyouthproject2018 . We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
