Hi all!
It is hard to believe that, as I write this, I am about to begin my last week of groups at the Harvington Youth Project. I have had such an amazing time getting to work with all of the brilliant young people involved in the project.
Of course, I am not quite done yet! There are still youth groups running this week (beginning 6th July) for all our age groups, plus a few more Open the Bible visits and, of course, Holiday Club! (Places are open now, speak to Father Glenn for more information.) We cannot wait to see you all for the fun!

Over the past two years, I have had the joy of being involved in so many fantastic things around Harvington, such as Messy Church, the Harvington Festival, and the legendary muddy obstacle course as part of Holiday Club! My favourite thing, however, has been our weekly youth groups: getting to spend time with the young people, sharing the Bible with them, playing games with them, and, in the case of Ignite (13+), going karting with them!
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to have worked here and I will take the wonderful memories and lessons with me into my future ministry.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people around the village who have supported me during my time here and made me feel so welcome and so valued as part of the village community.
A special thank you goes to everyone who has helped or volunteered at one of the activities or groups we have run. You are what makes this project and this village so special, and you have made my job an absolute joy.
A huge thank you to the Baptist Chapel for hosting both the project and me in their wonderful building, and for making me feel so at home. Thank you also to St James for all the help and support, and to Reverend Richard and Father Glenn for all the time and energy they have given.
I would also like to thank all the members of the steering group for their hard work, but in particular two people: John Liggitt, who has worked tirelessly as both a volunteer and a member of the steering group. When I say the project could not run without him, I really mean it. On more than one occasion, John has been at all three groups in a single week simply to make sure they all happened.
The other person is Peter Ashplant, who has been the Chair of the Project for almost ten years. He has given me so much help and support during my time here, and I do not know what I would have done without him.
Thank you for letting me play a part in this journey. I hope that the next chapter is one of growth and abundance.
Blessings,
Matthew Cook
